This was an awesome weekend! I put four amateur showmanship points on Kasino, got loads of compliments, and took some marvelous pictures. Online Kasino Games are extremely well-behaved, and I couldn't be happier. We had some semi-regular work in June, but it was a particularly rainy month and it would not be fair to say we got a full thirty days in. Then he had abscesses. If you're a Facebook fan, you know the story. Finally was able to get the shoes back on August 16. We started slow, but we are once again back to a semi-regular riding schedule. Hopefully, our first show can be at Latta Park in Huntersville, NC on September 21, although I do not believe we'll show under saddle.
The tee shirt ended up being really poor quality, so we'll go back to the drawing board there With the delay of spring for so long, I've finally got Kasino started on a schedule. He's doing well in showmanship and I've ridden him under saddle fairly steadily for over a week. We are still shooting for the Gainesville, GA show at the end of July. I've recently been working on some video ideas and logos and even ordered myself a Kasino T-shirt! Hopefully, someday I can distribute these to mare owners.
April is finally drawing near! I promised Kasino vacation until April, but as soon as the weather gets good and stays good, we are going to work! He's matured nicely over the winter and looks strong and solid out in the pasture. I've picked the tentative date of July 27 in Gainesville, GA as his under saddle debut, but again, the horse will decide if he's ready or not. I did elect to apply for my APHA amateur walk trot card and currently have no plans to push Kasino toward the events containing third gear. Although he is double registered, the inclusion of this walk-trot program will push us toward APHA venues again in 2013.
Thank you for your visit. I hope you find all the information you need regarding my young double-registered stallion. This year, we traveled to the VPHC Futurity at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia, the APHA World Show in Fort Worth, and several local shows in between. Thanks to all who were so complimentary of Online Kasino Games. We finished the year with over 30 points, a ROM, some futurity championships as well as some year-end high points. See his achievements page for the whole list. I'd like to thank the judges for their kindness toward Kasino which was reflected in the placings as well as the scorecards.
I'm thinking of keeping him at home as long as possible and starting him in some amateur walk-trot events at the APHA shows. Although I realize this isn't the traditional route for folks eventually wanting to stand a double registered stallion to the public, I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of sending my colt away. I'm quiet But as always, the horse will dictate the final call, so stay tuned as the plan unfolds. I occasionally write a blog entry or two about Kasino, so please see FlatKnees & Fotography if you want to read about him. Hopefully, there will be many professional pictures and videos as Kasino progresses through his show career. Meanwhile, there are dozens of snapshots organized by month on his Facebook Fan Club page if you would like to see him or see any of the videos
